Downtown Session

I had my first 'urban' session and it was such a cool little break from my usual shooting locales. I also think it worked really well for the age boys I shot- 10 & 12.

There are so many neat spaces in downtown Roanoke. You can really use the environment to create an interesting portrait.

So, I must thank mom for going along with my crazy idea...I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

And one with a funky look...

If any of my readers out there are interested in a session of this type, please contact me!

Tiny bubbles...

Just a fun snap from my evening of blowing bubbles with my little guy. The sky is obviously enhanced in this picture, but the true colors were very beautiful.

Is everyone LOVING this cooler weather as much as I am???

'A pistol and a mule'

I had to name this post in honor of my session today. According to 'B', he was a pistol, and little sis 'AD' was being a mule. I thought that was so funny! These kids are just beautiful and they were so much fun! Mom has impeccable taste and I had fun incorporating her fabulous decor into the shoot. Rest assured Mom and Dad, we got some keepers! ;)

Is he handsome OR WHAT???

As another busy week comes to a close, here are some peeks from recent sessions.

Here are little sweeties, 'S' and 'A'. (Can I just tell you that all of these little girlies here lately are really making me want to add some pink to our family?!)

For a newborn, Miss 'A' gave me the best eye contact and made me melt with her big smile! I must thank mom for her patience with me as we waited it out and got those 'perfect' shots. Dad, I hope you like the piano shot. I love to incorporate special belongings into my shoots.

And even though summer has 'unofficially' ended, these shots just scream *summer* to me! 'J' man here reminded me so much of my little guy, and his laugh was absolutely contagious!

And check big sister 'L's' gorgeous eyes...I love how the light is hitting her hair in this shot.

Worth every minute...

I often tell new parents that newborn sessions tend to go a little longer, so be prepared. I must give a HUGE thank you to sweet 'H's' mom...we hung on and got some shots sure to be forever cherished!

Sneak Peeks

I've been a bad blogger lately! =( What better way to make up to my readers than to post some recent session pictures?!

My weekend started out with 'M&M'...adorable almost 11 month old twins. They were so much fun! I loved M's beautiful red hair and her brother M's sweet smile! Here's a sneak peek for mom and dad, and Aunt J too!

Yesterday I photographed beautiful 'K'. You all already know how I feel about newborns...this little gal just made me swoon. She is absolutely squeezable! ;) She took a quick nap for us, and I was able to get some of the most peaceful sleepy shots of her.

As always, these are best viewed larger--click to enlarge.

Fields of Gold

Hubby and I took a break this weekend and headed to the beach. Imagine my happiness when we passed this field of sunflowers...it was just gorgeous!

Schedule update

I wanted to post a schedule update for all of you thinking about fall/holiday sessions.

I have 3 weekend dates left for September, and 3 for October. Those first 3 weekends in November are still fair game. As you can see, weekends fill quickly. I am free for weekday sessions. So, never fear, I still have some availability.

Please keep in mind that in order for holiday print delivery, you must book a session by November 10th. I will hold sessions through the end of November, but prints from those sessions will not be available until after the holidays. For those moms to be who are delivering in December, I will hold newborn sessions (2 weeks old and under) through the end of the year. I'd hate for those fleeting moments to not be captured!

Custom Framing

I've held off on the custom framing business because I was waiting for *just* the right frame. Well, I came across these handmade beauties and knew that these were 'it'.

These frames are solid wood, hand-painted and hand-distressed. They come in a variety of sizes (5x5 to 40x50) and colors and designs, including distressed, fluted, crackle and stripes. They are the perfect compliment to your prints! Contact me for further information.

The perks of my job...

Not only do I get to do what I love, but I get to watch these sweet babies grow!

Meet 'D', 10 months...I last photographed him at 7 days. He's the little bundle on the big bed on the first slide of my website (and he's also on my biz card). He's the most adorable little fella, and he loved my camera, literally. He loved checking out my lens!

So, here's a sneak peek for D's parents...I hope you enjoy!

Canvas...

how I love thee! ;)

Gallery wrapped canvas is a product that I am so excited to offer! Canvas is a wonderful addition to your wall grouping and showcases your images beautifully...like a true piece of art should be shown!

I am ecstatic about adorning the walls of our new home. I will be sure to post some wall gallery ideas once I really get going on my decorating.

This one makes me particularly happy because it's my little guy. I was so excited to get eye contact, albeit with a very serious expression, but still, he's looking at me! He's hip to my silly antics and no longer acknowledges my camera. *boo, hiss*

Holiday Card Collection

I LOVE the design...elegant, yet whimsical. And the color combo is so yummy!

These photo cards are 5x7 (and one 5x5) and are $2.25 per card. There is a minimum purchase of 25 cards. Greeting can be customized.

Like I said in an earlier post, it's never too early to get those cards crossed off of your holiday list! ;)

Here are a few more I am offering.

Lots of sneak peeks!

Things have been busy around here! I have lots of sneak peeks to showcase.

I must send out a big thank you to all my parents and kids who have braved this sweltering heat with me! Despite the heat, I have gotten some wonderful shots!

My sessions have been filled with girlies here lately...

What beauties, huh?!

And then some handsome little guys...
